<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for determining an enzyme activity simply in a high accuracy and at a low cost on the enzyme catalyzing so called a heterogeneous reaction by acting on an insoluble substrate. <P>SOLUTION: This measuring device of the enzyme activity having a mechanism 2 for forming a flow of a buffer solution and a mechanism 3 for injecting a specimen into the flow of the buffer solution is provided by arranging a container 5 filled with a substrate (e.g. xylan) substantially insoluble to the buffer solution of the enzyme to be measured (e.g. xylanase) and bonded with a compound or functional group having at least one characteristic among an electromagnetic wave-absorbing function, a fluorescence, a light-emitting property and an electrochemical activity (e.g. a metalloprotein pigment and an azo pigment) in a definite ratio on a downstream side of the injection mechanism 3 and measuring the enzyme activity quantitatively by solubilizing the substrate by an enzymatic reaction and measuring the characteristic by using a detector 7 capable of measuring one of the characteristics. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
