PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make atomization of fuel compatible with regulation of a complete penetration distance of spray by colliding gas with a whole of fuel spray. SOLUTION: A fuel injection device is provided with a fuel injection valve to inject fuel in the combustion chamber of an engine; and an air injection valve to inject air, and constituted such that fuel and air injected from respective injection valves are collided with each other at a collision point HP. One fuel nozzle hole 29a opened to the combustion chamber is formed corresponding to the fuel injection valve, and a plurality of air nozzle holes 29b opened to the combustion chamber are formed corresponding to the air injection valve. The shape, the size, and the direction of the fuel nozzle hole 29a are specified. The number of the fuel nozzle holes 29b, and the shape, the direction, and the situation facing the fuel nozzle hole 29a of the fuel nozzle hole 29b are specified.
