<p>A tool holder for tapping threaded holes has a tool shaft (10) with a grip profile (12) for a hand grip at one end and with a profiled grip end (14, 16) for the tap at the other end. The profiled grip is connected to the tap via interlocking radial grooves and ridges. The ridge pattern has sloping sides and a flat middle profile cut with a radial slot extending to the base of the ridge. The sloping sides of the grooves/ridges are straight or curved. The tap is secured by a central threaded fastener. The tool is suitable for both thread cutting taps and for thread replacing taps.</p> |
