<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To direct to a suitable technique for detecting the erroneous imposing of plates to be installed on a plate cylinder and realize the low cost and correct detection of the erroneous imposing of the plates. <P>SOLUTION: The positional deviation of the gradation level value f(x, y) of an image to be inspected is corrected based on the positional deviation amount (Δx, Δy) to the gradation level value f<SB>base</SB>(x, y) of a base image serving as an inspection standard. The number of pixels, the gradation level difference of the corrected image obtained by subtracting a secondarily differentiated value multiplied by coefficients corresponding to the positional deviation amount of the gradation level value f<SB>base</SB>(x, y) of the base image from a difference ¾f<SB>base</SB>(x, y)-F(x, y)¾ or the difference between the gradation level value F(x, y) of a corrected image, the positional deviation of which is corrected, and the gradation level value f<SB>base</SB>(x, y) of the base image of each of which is larger than the pre-set base level difference, is calculated. When the ratio of the calculated number of pixels to the total number of pixels is larger than the pre-set base ratio, the plates are detected to be erroneously imposed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
