IMAGE SUPPORT MEMBER, ITS USAGE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a uniform high gloss all over an image like a silver salt photograph and to easily satisfy heat resistance, mechanical strength and low temperature fixability with a fixing device having low energy consumption.

SOLUTION: An image support member 1 for supporting a color toner image 4 in a fixable state is provided with: a base material 1a; a light scattering layer 1b disposed on the base material 1a and containing a white pigment and thermoplastic resin; and a color toner receiving layer 1c disposed on the light scattering layer 1b and containing at least thermoplastic resin. The thermoplastic resin in the light scattering layer 1b consists of a polyolefin or a polyolefin copolymer and a temperature T at which the viscosity of the resin becomes 5×103Pas is≥120°C. The thermoplastic resin in the color toner receiving layer 1c is a polyolefin copolymer and a temperature t at which the viscosity of the resin becomes 103Pas is 90 to 120°C. An image forming apparatus using the image support 1 is also mentioned.
