PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening an agonist/an antagonist, and the like. SOLUTION: This method for screening the agonist/antagonist is to screen a compound which changes binding of a receptor protein withβ-alanine or L-carnocin or a salt of the compound by using a new G protein conjugating receptor protein containing the same or essentially the same amino acid sequence as an amino acid sequence expressed by sequence number 2 or 4, or its salt, andβ-alanine or L-carnocin.
