Fed to a receiver unit (RU) (3) by an image sensor (IS) (2) via a transmission link (1), a communications protocol (CP) includes data sequences (DS) for picture elements (PS), line separation (LS) and link synchronization (LnkS). The DS for LnkS and for synchronizing the RU has the IS. The DS for LS limits the DS for PS. The CP is evaluated with reference to the DS for LnkS. An independent claim is also included for a receiver unit with devices to blank out interference during a digital image transmission.
