<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a circuit board, wherein two identical paired connectors are usable, its structure is simple, and deterioration of signal transmission characteristics is prevented. <P>SOLUTION: In a receptacle connector (a half) 7a installed in a mid plane (a circuit board), a number of respectively two-paired contacts 1 and 2 are disposed with equal spaces in vertical and horizontal directions in a housing 6, and in the same number. The respectively two-paired contacts are surrounded by a plurality of first ground plates (not shown), and second ground plates (not shown) crossing the respective first ground plates like a grid. The respectively two-paired contacts are partitioned by third ground plates 5, respectively. The respective third ground plates are twisted by 90°at their intermediate parts.
