摘要 PURPOSE: Provided are a metal oxide-coated phosphor for a plasma display panel, which has controlled surface charge and improved discharge property, and a manufacturing method thereof. CONSTITUTION: The metal oxide-coated phosphor is formed by coating a metal oxide having high polarity on a surface of green phosphor(Zn2SiO4:Mn) to a thickness of 10 nm-0.5 micrometer in such an amount that a metal ion is 1-50 wt% to the green phosphor. Particularly, the metal oxide-coated phosphor is manufactured by the method comprising the steps of: (1) preparing a precursor by mixing a metal salt as a raw material of high polar metal oxide, a solvent and a green phosphor; (2) adjusting the pH to 7-10 by adding a basic substance to the precursor; (3) dispersing homogeneously during or after the pH adjustment; and (4) filtering the remaining solid material and then heating the filtrate at a temperature of 100-600 deg.C for 10 to 300 minutes.
