<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protector for a metal pipe which can be mounted easily, in a short time and at an arbitrary position of the metal pipe, and is not disconnected by packing and moving. <P>SOLUTION: The protector for the metal pipe is constituted in a spiral shape with a flexible material. In addition, end parts of the protector have an overlapping in the peripheral direction, and this overlapping between these end parts is preferably 10-40% of one spiral turn. In addition, the end parts are preferably separated from each other in the axial direction of the spiral.
