Method and apparatus for filtering encapsulated data packets by truncation of the net power from symbols situated at the edges of the packets

The method involves receiving an encapsulated data-symbol packet. The noisy operating power of primary samples representative of the primary symbols of the packet is truncated. Energy (Esk) for each symbol is obtained such that the ratio of the energy to the spectral density of noise power at the exit of a filtering module (MFR) of a demodulator (DM1) of a communication network is constant irrespective of the symbol. The primary symbols are placed upstream and/or downstream of the data-symbol packet. An independent claim is also included for a communication network.
