PURPOSE: Provide are a supporter for an image recording material which has an improved density, elastic modulus, tensile strength and strength and an excellent dimensional stability and smoothness, a producing method thereof and an image recording material using the supporter. CONSTITUTION: The supporter for an image recording material comprises a stencil paper containing a pulp suspension(10). The stencil paper is a press-dry treated stencil paper and a moisture content of the stencil paper before the press-dry treatment is 30 to 70%. The press-dry treatment comprises press-dry treating an image forming side of the stencil paper at a temperature of 100 to 200 deg.C. A density of the stencil paper is at least 0.9 g/cm¬3.
