FIELD: transport engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to design of beams for roads intended for overhead vehicles. Proposed beam is provided with heat insulating coating applied to its upper side. Said coating is floating, being formed by several insulating members secured by collars on beam surface. Collars are fastened by means of clamping strips on upper side of beam. Each insulating member is made floating. Collars can be made of rubber-like material. Coating is provided with photovoltaic cells of solar battery on at least part of its surface. Space passing in direction of vehicle movement is provided under coating. Beam is furnished with sliding guides between which said coating is located. Beam can be made of steel or concrete. Wires and cables can be laid in space. ^ EFFECT: improved reliability and increased service life. ^ 11 cl, 4 dwg
