<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording medium which shows a similarity to the feeling of a printing paper with a coated layer and a remarkable superiority in terms of recorded image density, high definition, grab of coloring pigment, double printability and the like, in the ink jet recording medium used for ink jet recording using a non-aqueous pigmented ink. <P>SOLUTION: This ink jet recording medium records an image by ink jet process using a non-aqueous pigmented ink containing a coloring pigment, a high boiling solvent and a resin composition soluble in the high boiling solvent. In this recording medium, an ink receiving layer with a 75° glossiness by JIS Z8741 of 40% or higher is formed on a paper support, and the ink receiving layer is constituted of at least a topcoat layer composed mainly of an inorganic ultrafine particle with an average particle diameter of less than 1 μm and a binder formed on an undercoat layer composed mainly of an alkaline earth metal salt as a pigment and a binder. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
