PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing a deterioration in the quality of a printed image by preventing a filming layer from being formed on a transfer belt. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a pair of transport rollers (7a and 7b) on an upstream side in a transfer material transport direction with reference to a transfer belt (or a transfer roller) (8), and the work function of the material of the upper roller (7a) is set to be equal to that of the material of the lower roller (7b).
