PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of correcting positional information by which the burdens imposed upon user-side devices can be reduced by eliminating the need of holding marker information by each user at the time of correcting positional information obtained through GPS etc., based on picked-up images. SOLUTION: A client acquires its own positional information by means of a positional information acquiring section 1 and an image picked up from the location of the client by means of an image picking-up 2, and transmits the acquired positional information to a server having a marker data storing part 13 which stores a plurality of marker data through communicating parts 4 and 11. The server selects the marker data to be transmitted to the client out of a plurality of pieces of marker information stored in the marker data storing part 13 based on the transmitted positional information, and transmits the selected marker information to the client. The positional and attitude information processing part 5 of the client corrects acquired positional information and/or attitude information based on the picked-up image and transmitted marker information.
