PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in the precision of transferring the recording medium caused by the eccentricity of a gear. SOLUTION: A gear 129 is fitted to the shaft end of a transfer driving roller 28 for transferring sheets, while a gear 124 is fitted to the rotary shaft end of the drive roller 32 on the downstream side of a recording section which discharges the sheets, transmitting power from the drive motor 117 to the transfer driving roller 28 and the drive roller 32 on the downstream side of a recording section via gears 123, 122, 130, a pulley 121 and an endless belt 120. Power is transmitted from the gear 130 to the gear 124 via the gears 122, 123 having the same number of teeth. The gears 122, 123 are arranged so that the eccentric direction between the gears 122 and 123 provides an angle of substantially 180°, thereby canceling the error in the rotational angle due to eccentricity to obtain an appropriate transferring precision.
