<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier which does not cause its adhesion, is suitable for obtaining a good image, ensures a small change with the lapse of time, and retains its properties over a very long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic carrier obtained by disposing a coating layer on a surface of a magnetic core material, the following conditions are satisfied. Magnetization σb of the carrier at 1,000 Oe and magnetization σa of a released carrier, at 1,000 Oe, released from an opening under specified conditions satisfy 0.90≤σa/σb<1.00. Magnetization and the true specific gravity of the carrier have a specific relation, the weight average diameter and number average diameter of the carrier are specific values and have a specific relation, and when a magnetic brush of the carrier is formed at a space occupancy of 40% between parallel tabular electrodes and AC voltage is applied in the nearly same direction as the brush, electric resistance has a specific relation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
