<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector which allows for secure electric contact with mating conductors even when a terminal fixture is designed to be miniaturized, to be multi-terminal, and to permit the insertion of the connector by a low inserting force. <P>SOLUTION: A holder 2 supporting an FPC 4 is engaged into the connector 1. The connector 1 has a female housing 3 and the terminal fixture 14. The female housing 3 contains the terminal fixture 14. The terminal fixture 14 has a pair of contact pieces 20a, 20b. The holder 2 enters between the pair of contact pieces 20a, 20b. LetΔT,βa and 1a denote the temperature change, the linear expansion coefficient of the holder 2, and the distance between a contact point S and a first fixing part C, respectively. Letβb and 1b denote the linear expansion coefficient of the terminal fixture 14 and the distance between the contact point S and a second fixing part D, respectively. Let k,μ, and F be the elastic coefficient of the contact piece 20b, the static friction coefficient between conductors 5 of the FPC 4 and the terminal fixture 14, and the elastic restoring force of the contact piece 20b, respectively.
