PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin molded article excellent in mechanical physical properties by using a carbon fiber as a reinforcing material. SOLUTION: This fiber-containing thermoplastic resin composition contains (A) 97-30 wt. % thermoplastic resin, and 3-70 wt. % carbon fiber, wherein, the carbon fiber is bundled by the thermoplastic resin (A) along its longitudinal direction and the mean fiber length is 4.0-12.0 mm. Also, the thermoplastic resin (A) of the composition is at least one kind of a microorganism-degradable resin selected from a group consisting of a polylactic acid, polycaprolactone, resin obtained by using an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and a polyhydric alcohol as main raw materials, polyester resin synthesized from microorganisms or plants, starch and modified starch.
