PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a high-temperature compression test of a test piece by heating two surfaces of the test piece to different temperatures. SOLUTION: A controller controls the current to an upper high-frequency induction heating coil 23a to control the heating of an upper press plate 20A and the upper surface of the test piece TP is heated corresponding to the heating control of the upper press plate. The controller also controls the current to a lower high-frequency induction heating coil 23b to control the heating of a lower press plate 20B and the under surface of the test piece TP is heated corresponding to the heating control of the lower press plate. By independently heating the upper and lower press plates, the high-temperature compression test of the test piece TP can be performed in a state that a temperature difference is provided between the upper and under surfaces of the test piece TP. A shield plate 50 is arranged between the upper and lower coils to prevent the interference of the magnetic fluxes of the upper and lower coils. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
