PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine which has a high efficiency and high knock suppressing effect by reducing the emission gas with two ignition plugs. SOLUTION: There are provided at least two air intake passages communicating a combustion chamber to an upper surface of a cylinder head, a first ignition plug installed facing an approximately center of the combustion chamber, a second ignition plug installed facing an end rim at an air intake side of the combustion engine and arranged between two air intake passages, and a control means for controling the first and second ignition plugs.
