PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality thermal head capable of forming clear printing, and a thermal printer using the same. SOLUTION: The thermal head comprises a head substrate A the upper face of which has a number of heat generating resistors 2 and circuit conductors 3, and an external wiring board B having a number of wiring conductors 6, in which the circuit conductors 3 and the wiring conductors 6 are solder bonded to each other to be electrically connected and the solder bonded portion is arranged in lines.
