PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a compact and high-portability constitution, and to efficiently and surely guide a waste ink generated by a recovery operation to a waste ink absorber to hold the ink with no leakage in an inkjet recording device which has a recovery part with a pump for discharging ink by applying a suction force to an ink discharge part of a recording means. SOLUTION: The recovery part including the pump 640 is set to be nearly equal in the height to the waste ink absorber 645 for holding the waste ink, so that the recording device is thinned, and eventually the portability is improved. Also, an internal space where a waste ink channel 641 which connects the recovery part and the waste ink absorber with each other is sealed is set. A channel absorber is arranged in the sealed space so that a void is present from a connecting part to the discharge part of the pump 640 up to a connecting part to the waste ink absorber. Moreover, the channel absorber is connected to the waste ink absorber 645, whereby the waste ink can be efficiently and surely guided to the waste ink absorber and is surely absorbed and held.
