<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shim disposed around a dovetail root for a gas turbine for an aircraft, which can be easily installed on a blade root, and in which the shim need be pushed to be expanded to be engaged to cover a dovetail part of the blade root, and snap-fitted to a dented inner surface of a root in a slot between tabs. <P>SOLUTION: A first and a second walls 54 and 64 disposed at an interval from each other in a horizontal direction are extended upward from a bottom surface 52. The bottom surface includes a thin and long bottom opening 90 extended in a length direction of the two. The bottom opening includes a main range 92 and a round end range 94 disposed at an interval in a length direction. A dog-bone shaped bottom opening 95 or a bottom opening 99 having a round end part comprising a semi-circular round end range 102 can be used. The shim is designed for the dovetail root having a root slot 32 formed in a bottom part 34 of the dovetail root 30. A dovetail shim part 84 having a dovetail form 51 almost coincides with the dovetail form 51 in a cross section of the dovetail root along the root slot.
