PURPOSE: A cathode ray tube is provided to reduce the width of opening of a vertical deflection coil by inserting a fixture into the gap formed between a square vertical deflection coil and a circular ferrite core. CONSTITUTION: A cathode ray tube comprises a panel having an inner surface on which a phosphor screen deposited with red, green, and blue phosphors is formed; a funnel coupled to the rear surface of the panel; an electron gun mounted in a neck, and which emits electron beams; and a deflection yoke for deflecting the electron beams in horizontal and vertical directions. The deflection yoke includes a horizontal deflection coil and a vertical deflection coil for deflecting the electron beams emitted from the electron gun in horizontal and vertical directions; a ferrite core for achieve improved magnetic field efficiency by reducing losses of magnetic forces generated from the horizontal and vertical deflection coils; and a holder for fixing the horizontal and vertical deflection coils and the ferrite core, and insulation between the horizontal deflection coil and the vertical deflection coil. A fixture(150) is inserted into the gap formed between the outer surface of the vertical deflection coil and the inner surface of the ferrite core.
