PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption and to enhance security.

SOLUTION: This authentication processing system is provided with a portable information terminal 1, a terminal authentication module 2 for performing authentication processing with the portable information terminal 1 by radio and an entry terminal 3 for performing an entry operation of a vehicle when the terminal authentication module 2 succeeds in authentication with the portable information terminal 1. Power consumption of both the portable information terminal 1 and the terminal authentication module 2 can be reduced since the portable information terminal 1 transmits existence confirmation signals at every first time interval and the terminal authentication module 2 is set in a receiving mode for receiving the existence confirmation signals only during a third time interval at every second time interval.
