PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moistureproof paper board, the moistureproofness of which can be improved without impairing the formability of a carton such as foldability or heat resistance, and a carton for powder detergent. SOLUTION: This moistureproof paper board has a moistureproof layer between two paper layers and has a total basis weight of 400-700 g/m<SP>2</SP>. The moistureproof layer is a laminate of a polypropylene-base resin layer and a hot melt resin layer. Preferably, the hot melt resin layer includes wax and atactic polypropylene. In order to be suitable for the carton for powder detergent, the preferable water vapor permeability of the paper board is less than 10 g/m<SP>2</SP>×24 h. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
