<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment process and a treatment apparatus for waste liquid-crystal panels, wherein mainly liquid crystal, organic matters, and glass substrates are surely and safely detoxified and recovered for efficiently recycling glass substrates on which sticks of residual solid organic matters and bound metals are not found. <P>SOLUTION: In the treatment process, waste liquid-crystal panels are placed without being crushed in a reactor, and heated at 200-800°C under reduced pressure of 0.01-10 kPa. The liquid crystal constituting the waste liquid-crystal panels and solid organic materials provided in the inside/outside surfaces of the glass substrate are partly vaporized, and residual solid organic matters are carbonized. In the treatment process, the volatile gas is mainly recovered as liquid and solid organic matters, and besides, high-quality glass substrates without any substance sticking thereon are recovered. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
