PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent a lock ring, having the same profile as conventional, from inversely oriented when a pipe joint is jointed. SOLUTION: A circumferential groove 2 is formed on the inner surface of a socket 1. A lock ring 3 is stored in the circumferential groove 2. A spigot 4 comprising a spigot projection 4a is inserted and connected to the socket 1 after the lock ring 3 is enlarged in diameter. A tapered surface is provided only to single sides 2a and 3a of the inside surface of the circumferential groove 2 and the side surface of the lock ring 3. Except when the tapered surfaces 2a and 3a face each other, the tapered surface 2a of the circumferential groove comes into contact with a lock ring perimeter 3c to disable housing.
