PURPOSE: Provided are an electrochemical cell which is easy to manufacture, has low volume, and high flexibility, durability, and specific area of electrode catalyst, and increases efficiency of cell, and the electrode, and a method for producing the electrode. CONSTITUTION: The electrode of electrochemical cell comprises an electrode catalyst layer(61) consisting of electrode catalyst(31), a pair of support layers(62,63) for electrode catalyst which are located at both sides of the electrode catalyst layer(61), and consist of fiber assembly of conductive metal material, and a housing(65) having a plurality of holes, which houses the support layers and consists of conductive metal material. The electrode catalyst has a granular or filament shape. The surface of the electrode catalyst is coated with nickel. The support layers are nickel or nickel alloy.
