The process involves controlling steering angle of each wheel (2, 3) independently by a steering control device (21, 22). A capacity of variation of a steering angle of a considered wheel (2, 3) is limited in case of fault of one of the steering control devices (21, 22) of one of the wheels. The steering angle of the wheel is blocked when the steering angle enters a preset range i.e. near zero degrees.
