PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine control system for highly maintaining a gas temperature in a cylinder. SOLUTION: This control system of an engine 2 has a swirl port and a straight port as an intake port; can open-close the intake port 31a being the swirl port by a first SCV 20a; restrains the formation of a swirl by closing the first SCV 20a when the engine 2 is a prescribed temperature or less; prevents heat from taken by a wall surface in the cylinder cold in intake gas; and highly maintains the gas temperature in the cylinder.
