PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inductor which enables reduction in the standby power of a power supply. SOLUTION: The inductor is formed by combining a box-type core having an oval inner space, an oval brim and a core, which is T-shaped in cross section and is formed of a coil-fixing shaft erected from the center of the oval brim. An inner wall of the box type core and the brim of the core which is T-shaped in cross section are locked. Thereby, a magnetic circuit of the inductor is formed of a closed magnetic path and an open magnetic path, and variation of the inductor to a dc current can be made large.
