PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiving apparatus capable of taking the privacy of a viewer into consideration by limiting control of a receiving channel to an apparatus during viewing and stopping output of video/audio of an apparatus which is not submitted for viewing, while a master set or slave set is solely viewing a broadcast. SOLUTION: When a channel selecting operation is performed from an operating unit 34 of a slave set 30, the operation is decoded by a control microcomputer 35, and a control signal is transmitted from a radio transmitting/receiving unit 31 to the master set 10. In the master set, the received control signal is decoded by a control microcomputer 20, channel selection is performed for a broadcast reception demodulating unit 11, and the demodulated video/audio signal is inputted into a line output mute circuit unit 14 and a radio output mute circuit unit 16. At this time, since a series of operations are performed from the slave set 30, the control microcomputer 20 outputs a control signal for invalidating the video/audio signal to the unit 14, and prohibits a selecting operation from a main operating unit 19.
