The saw tool (01) has a saw blade (02) held in a frame (03) having a cutting edge (16) with an active region in linear contact with the workpiece. The frame is supported in framework (04) which pivots about a rotation axis coinciding with the active region of the cutting edge, the saw blade pivoted about a second axis at an angle to the latter rotation axis. The controlled movement of the saw blade can be controlled via numerically-controlled drives.
