APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR IMAGE FORMATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for image formation that can prevent the recognition rate of speech recognition from decreasing owing to an operation sound in printing operation by starting the speech recognition after the printing operation is interrupted.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a speech recognition part 103 which recognizes an inputted speech and an image print part 107 which prints specified print information. An image print state holding part 106 decides whether the image print part 107 is in printing operation. A request to start operation is received from a speech recognition part 103 and when the operation start request of the speech recognition part 107 is accepted while the image print part 107 is printing the print information, the printing of print information by the image printing part 1076 is interrupted. Then the state of a speech recognition state holding part 102 is changed and the speech recognition part 103 starts recognizing the inputted speech.
