PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soft demodulating method and a soft demodulating device capable of greatly reducing the required calculation amount and complexity at the time of performing soft demodulation of a code from the output signal of a channel. SOLUTION: This soft demodulating method comprises a step for calculating a partial sum for each of the prescribed number of bit units about a code word received from the channel, a step for dividing each entry into the prescribed number of bit units at the time of calculating each entry value of a decoding table and referring to the partial sum corresponding to the divided prescribed number of bit units to calculate an entry value, and a step for detecting the maximum value from the entry value and calculating an LLR value.
