PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially producing an adamantyl acrylate compound from a 2-adamantanone compound by an alkylation and successively an esterification reaction, by which the adamantyl acrylate compound can be produced in a high yield at a low cost without using an alkyl Li reagent as a raw material, while preventing the production of a reduced product on the introduction of an alkyl group. SOLUTION: This method for producing the 2-alkyl-2-adamantyl acrylate compound comprises reacting the 2-adamantanone compound with a dialkyl magnesium compound and a metal alkoxide organic metal compound and further with an acrylic acid compound.
