PURPOSE: A plasma display device comprising a driver unit appropriate for performing a fast charge equalization operation is provided to reduce a sustain period of a discharge area reset operation as maintaining an equalization level of various discharge areas, without decreasing efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A discharge ignition threshold value does not exceed at a random cell of a panel without regard to charge state induced from an operation during a prior scan or sub scan before a step(P1), and a weak discharge begins to start at an area of the panel from the start of a condition setting step(P1). The discharge ignition threshold value exceeds at each cell of the panel after the condition setting step(P1) without regard to the charge state induced from the prior operation to generate initial condition setting state. Increasing rate of a potential between electrodes or a temporary value of a slope of the potential is higher than 10V/micro second, during a step(P2).
