PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optically active trans-1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid derivative or its enantiomer. SOLUTION: The optically active trans-1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid derivative expressed by general formula (4) or its enantiomer is produced by reacting a mixture of racemic bodies or antipodes of trans-1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid derivative of general formula (1) with an optically active amine of general formula (2) to precipitate a diastereomer salt as a crystal, separating the crystal and treating with an acid or a base.
