MANUFACTURING METHOD OF POLARIZED LIGHT SEPARATING ELEMENT, THE SAME ELEMENT MANUFACTURED WITH THE SAME METHOD, OPTICAL PICKUP USING THE SAME ELEMENT AND STICKING DEVICE OF ORGANIC BIREFRINGENCE FILM FOR IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarized light separating element and its manufacturing method which can suppress extrusion and deviation of an organic birefringence film from a transparent substrate at the time of sticking the organic birefringence film on the transparent substrate and an optical pickup which can be miniaturized and the sticking device of the film for it.

SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the polarized light separating element comprizes a sticking process for sticking an organic birefringence film 6 whose refractive indexes are different to different planes of vibration of an incident light on a transparent substrate 3 and a process for forming a periodic mask on the organic birefringence film 6 and for forming a periodic diffraction grating by etching the film 6 using the periodic mask pattern. In the sticking process, ultraviolet ray setting type adhesives 5 are applied to the whole surface of the transparent substrate 3 while giving first rotation to the substrate 3 (b, c) and the film 6 is placed on the ultraviolet ray type adhesives 5 (d) and the surface of the film 6 is flattened by giving second rotation to the substrate 3 and a plurality of pins 2 (e) and the adhesives 5 are hardened by irradiating the substrate 3 with ultraviolet rays 8 (g).
