PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system and a communication method whereby the security of a connected terminal is enhanced. SOLUTION: In a communication apparatus 10, a communication terminal 20 whose IP address is assigned by a DHCP server 16 tries to access a WINS server 18 for name registration. In this case, the communication terminal 20 uses the IP address of the WINS server 18 notified from the DHCP server 16 as the access destination information of the WINS server 18. This IP address cannot be used for name registration since this IP address is different from the IP address actually assigned to the WINS server 18. That is, since no name resolution is applied to the communication terminal 20 connected to the communication apparatus 10, it is difficult for users connected to the same LAN to easily intercept or delete information stored in user's respective terminals 20A, 20B, thereby enhancing the security of the terminal 20 connected to the communication apparatus 10.
