PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem that it is hard for a rotary reel unit of a conventional game machine to make a beginner recognize a different kind of specific symbol passing through a display window of the game machine. SOLUTION: When a reel drum 12 rotates, also a reel band 31 adhered on the outer circumference of the reel drum 12 rotates. Because a back lamp 14 is normally lit ON, when the reel band 31 rotates and symbols of seven 22 and wolf 23 pass the front part of irradiating part of the back lamp 14, outgoing light of the back lamp 14 leaks out from translucent parts 32a, 33a and the translucent parts 32a, 33a emit light. Accordingly, a timing for the symbol of seven 32 to pass a window 2 can be discriminated by light emitted by the translucent part 32a observed on the left side of the window 2 and a timing for the symbol of wolf 33 to pass the window 2 by light emitted by the translucent part 33a observed on the right side of the window 2.
