PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an optical color changeable multi-layered coating film capable of providing different colors in feeling due to different light sources and having a brightness, and which coating film is particularly useful in electric appliances, cars, and the like. SOLUTION: The method comprises successively forming, on a substrate, a base coating film, an optical allochroic coating film containing metal oxide particles, or the like, having an average diameter of 5-100 nm, a transparent bright material-containing coating film containing a mica pigment, or the like, and a clear coating film, thereby forming the multi-layered coating film.
