<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminaire where a cover body is attached to a luminaire body, which is fitted to a ceiling by a fitting member and comprises a drop-off preventing mechanism which prevents the cover body from dropping, with the number of components of the drop-off preventing mechanism being smaller, for a lower cost, than when a claw member, composed of hardwares formed separately from the cover body, is fitted to the cover body, since it comprises the claw member formed integrally with the cover body and a locking member which is provided to the luminaire body and can lock with the claw member, while the claw member protruding inward reinforces the cover body, as though a rib is formed on the cover body, to prevent deformation of the cover body. <P>SOLUTION: A drop-off preventing mechanism 35 comprises a claw member 23a which is integrally molded with the cover body 21, and a locking member 12 which is provided to a luminaire body 11 and can lock with the claw member 23a. The luminaire body 11 and the cover body 21 are almost square in a top view, with the cover body 21 molded from synthetic resin. A pair of or a plurality of pairs of fitting members 13 are provided at a position facing the luminaire body 11.
