PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the staining of photographic paper due to concentration of washing water squeezed by a squeeze roller. SOLUTION: The washing water attached to the photographic paper 20a is squeezed by a pair of squeeze rollers 41, 42. A pair of helical grooves 46, 47 are formed ranging from both end parts to the central part. The helical grooves 46, 47 are formed in such a direction that it looks as if the helical grooves 46, 47 are moved toward the central part side by rotation of the squeeze roller 42b to the conveyance direction of the photographic paper 42b. By the rotation of the squeeze roller 42b to the conveyance direction of the photographic paper 42b, the washing water attached to the squeeze roller 42b is sent from the end parts to the central part through the helical grooves 46, 47. The washing water does not stagnate near the end parts of the roller 42b and the concentration of the washing water due to the repeated drying and wetting of the washing water is avoided. Foreign matter formed by the concentration does not attach to the photographic paper and the occurrence of the staining of the photographic paper is avoided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
