Composite material for ceramic heating elements and manufacturing process thereof

The ceramic composition is: 50-90 volume % of an oxide-, nitride- or oxynitride electric insulator; and 10-50 volume % of an electrical conductor selected from transition metal silicides, transition metal carbides, transition metal borides, especially MoSi2. An additive comprises 0-10 volume %. The latter influences the sintering properties of the composite material. It is selected from the transition metals, the transition metal silicides or transition metal oxides. It is especially Ni, TiO2, MnO2, TiO2, TiSi2. An independent claim is included for the method of manufacture.
