System and method for communication between hearing aids

The data transmission method involves specifying a priority for a transmission process and sending a data packet with a length depending on the specified priority. Data are received with a second priority and transmission is interrupted if the second priority is higher than the first. A manual operating process causes a transmission at the highest priority. An independent claim is also included for the following: (a) an arrangement for sending data in a hearing aid system (b) a hearing aid with an inventive arrangement (c) and a remote controller with an inventive arrangement.
