PURPOSE: A method for searching path of a navigation apparatus and a method for displaying traffic information are provided to search a recommended path more accurately, using traffic information in the present and in the past. CONSTITUTION: According to the navigation apparatus, a calculation processing unit(1) detects the present position on the ground of information being output from sensors(6,7,8) and a GPS receiver(9), and reads map data from a map/statistical traffic data memory device(3), and searches an optimum path from a destination to a departure. A display(2) displays graphic information generated in the calculation processing unit. And the map/statistical traffic data memory device stores map data and statistical traffic data.
